Your clipboard data stays on your device. Specifically:

• No clipboard content is ever sent to any server
• No personal information is collected by the extension
• All text formatting happens locally in your browser

Chrome Extension

The ClipboardTools Chrome extension requires certain permissions to function:

• Clipboard Read/Write: Required to read your clipboard content for formatting and write the formatted result back
• Active Tab: Required to paste formatted content into the current page when using the paste feature
• Storage: Used to save your formatting preferences locally on your device
• Context Menus: Enables the right-click menu option for quick access

All processing occurs locally within your browser. No data leaves your device.

Local Storage

The extension stores your formatting preferences (such as quote style and container type) using Chrome's local storage API. This data:

• Never leaves your device
• Is not synced to any cloud service
• Is automatically deleted when you uninstall the extension

Website Analytics

The ClipboardTools website uses analytics services (such as Google Analytics or Vercel Analytics) to understand general usage patterns and improve the site. These services may collect:

• Page views and navigation patterns
• Device type, browser, and general location (country/region)
• Referral sources

No clipboard content is ever tracked or transmitted.

Cookies

Our analytics providers use cookies to distinguish visitors and track sessions across visits. These cookies are used solely for analytics purposes and help us understand how visitors use the site.
